Hippeastrum cybister X
papilio |
|
Description
- A
very interesting cross! Stunning flowers with the colour of H.
papilio (red and green combination) and the shape of H. cybister
(thin petals, spider like). The plants grow more like H.
cybister too, so they will need a fairly dry rest in Winter.
Very few offsets and flowering sized (FS) bulbs are available.

Hippeastrum (cybister X
papilio) X hybrida |
|
Description
- The
first flowering of the above primary hybrid gave me the
opportunity to dabble in some hybridising. Some flowers were
self-pollinated, others crossed with H. papilio, and I also
crossed them with one of Bruce Knights hybrid Hippeastrum (the
pollen parent of the bulbs on offer). This cross should produce
some interesting results! Third season bulbs.
